– Welcome to the Global Diving Support Network (GDSN)
The GDSN has been set up by Diving Industry professionals as a reporting tool to support the working commercial diver, Supervisors, LSS/LST, diver tenders, Superintendents, Offshore Managers, Project Engineers and Client Representatives who feel that they have a commercial diving CONCERN that requires to be recorded.
The GDSN will be available to offshore Oil and Gas, Renewables, Inshore and Onshore worksites. Any location where diving is utilised to fulfil a safety critical scope of work.
– Why has the GDSN been created?
Because it has become clear that divers are being injured or worse at the worksite and then being abandoned by their employer, often without any form of support and in some extreme cases, having lost their capability to earn and support their dependents.
Incident information, data, chronological logs, chamber logs, dive logs, witness statements and more worryingly, black box video footage becomes ‘lost’ or ‘misplaced’.
– How will the GDSN work?
The reporting procedure for the GDSN shall be via the CONCERNS reporting template, simply fill out as much of the CONCERN details as possible and return to thegdsn.
The CONCERNS shall be managed in a totally confidential way and entered into the gdsn data-base.
Each CONCERN shall be logged with a unique reference number for future ease of location by the USERS.
– Why choose the GDSN?
The GDSN has been established by former commercial divers, divers who have been injured through just doing their job and a recognised Industry Company Director who shares the GDSN passion for continuous diver safety improvements.
